The Case
Neligan LLP represented the SEC-appointed Receiver for the Stanford Financial group of companies and the Official Stanford Investors Committee in a variety of multi-billion dollar litigation matters against third parties arising from the Allen Stanford Ponzi scheme. Allen Stanford perpetrated one of the largest Ponzi schemes in U.S. history on investors throughout the world. After years of hard-fought litigation, resulting in multiple appeals to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in one case the U.S. Supreme Court, Neligan LLP helped achieve settlements that resulted in over $350 million in recoveries for the benefit of the Stanford investors.
